Passive DWDM & CWDM

DWDM

Single Fiber (BiDi) Passive

Single Fiber (BiDi) DWDM mux (passive filters) product line is part of our xWDM product line uses up to C-Band (Common Band) optical channel plan as defined by ITU-T G.694.1. We are using 32 from 45 available wavelengths, allowing to organize up to 20 parallel and independent data streams over single fiber of SMF cable. xWDM technology remains as todays prevailing technology for extending black fiber capacity. Main advantages of xWDM technology are its passive nature – no power supply or cooling necessary, robustness – no special microclimate requirements and as passive element, it has MTBF 100+ Years. xWDM – it is fully data rate or line protocol neutral – it is possible to use with colored transceivers supporting such applications as 1G/10G Ethernet, SDH/SONET and 8/4/2/1G Fiber Channel. It is simple to install, requires no configuration or maintenance. We designed Single Fiber (BiDi) DWDM mux product line focusing on minimizing insertion loss allowing to extend maximum reach of DWDM technology, logical structure allowing to minimize initial investments and support gradual growth of DWDM capacity. Single Fiber (BiDi) DWDM mux product line uses DWDM channel plan in bi-directional mode, where transmission directions on same fiber are separated by using different wavelengths.

For Granular Expansion:

For DWDM connections, which use 100 GHz separation, number of available 45 wavelengths limits maximum capacity. For our single fiber (BiDi) DWDM scenario, we are using 16 pairs (32 wavelengths). It’s possible to start with 8 data streams and latter upgrade additional 8 data streams in maximum resulting 16 independent connections over single fiber (BiDi) DWDM:

Line termination units we use in case, when dropped channels need to be interfacing towards only one side (east or west) of link. OADM units we use when dropped channels are interfacing both sides (east and west) of DWDM Single Fiber link:

Double Fiber Passive

Double Fiber DWDM mux (passive filters) product line is part of our xWDM product line uses up to C-Band (Common Band) optical channel plan as defined by ITU-T G.694.1. It allows organize up to 40 parallel and independent data streams over pair of single-mode optical fibers if using 100 GHz channel spacing, or up to 80 data streams, if using 50 GHz channel spacing. As DWDM channel plan partly overlaps with passband of CWDM channels 1531 nm and 1551nm, it’s also possible to form Hybrid-WDM solution and upgrade existing passive CWDM connections, where capacity reached maximum. xWDM technology remains as todays prevailing technology for extending black fiber capacity. We designed Double Fiber DWDM mux product line focusing on minimizing insertion loss allowing to extend maximum reach of DWDM technology, logical structure allowing to minimize initial investments and support gradual growth of DWDM capacity.

For 50GHz Channel Plan:

For maximizing double fiber DWDM connection capacity, it’s possible to use 50 GHz spacing C-Band channel plan. With our products You can achieve 40+40=80 independent and parallel connections over pair of single-mode fiber. As first You can implement 40 even channels and later upgrade with second mux, supporting 40 odd channels:

CWDM

Single Fiber (BiDi) Passive

Single Fiber (BiDi) CWDM mux (passive filters) product line is part of our xWDM product line uses up to 18 CWDM(Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplex) optical channel plan as defined by ITU-T G.694.2 allowing to organize up to 9 parallel and independent data streams over single fiber of single-mode optical fiber. xWDM technology remains as todays prevailing technology for extending black fiber capacity. We designed Single Fiber (BiDi) CWDM mux product line focusing on minimizing insertion loss allowing to extend maximum reach of CWDM technology, logical structure allowing to minimize initial investments and support gradual growth of CWDM capacity. Single Fiber (BiDi) CWDM mux product line uses CWDM channel plan in bi-directional mode, where transmission directions on same fiber are separated by using different wavelengths.

For Maximum Capacity:

For CWDM connections maximum capacity is limited by number of available 18 wavelengths. In maximum capacity scenario, it is possible to have up to 9 independent and parallel connections over single fiber. In case of long distances it is considerable to use multiplexers supporting 8 connections, which have slightly smaller insertion loss:
